After a relatively quiet start to the year, Craig Thomas Gallery in Saigon is about to get busy with a series of solo exhibitions by mid-career artists from Hanoi and Saigon beginning in July. As a prelude, we present to you three artists to keep an eye on.

------------------------

First off is Nguyễn Quốc Trung, born in 1981 and a 2006 graduate of the Hanoi Fine Arts University. He is a Hanoi-based painter having his first solo show in Saigon. His solo exhibition is called Ethereal, comprising fifteen works of oil on canvas, and will open at Craig Thomas Gallery Tran Nhat Duat on 5 May 2017.  Click here to see images of the entire collection.

Trần Minh Tâm on the other hand is continuing his exploration of Vietnam’s final dynasty through the medium of wood, oil and lacquer in his upcoming collection House of Nguyen 2 which will open at Craig Thomas Gallery on 28 July 2017.  The work is still in progress but below is a photo of one of the many outstanding pieces that Tam is currently completing. The gallery also continues to receive new works from some of their favourite artists. One of them, with yet again a totally different technique and someone definitely to keep an eye on, is Ngo Van Sac, whose well-received wood burn technique is evolving in unexpected and delightful ways.
