HELP BYT TO FIGHT AGAINST GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE
Did you know that the fashion and textile industry is the world’s 2nd biggest polluter, behind oil? Or that textiles are the 2nd biggest polluter of clean water, behind agriculture? Despite the fact that textiles are almost 100% recyclable, fashion still leaves behind piles of waste...

China alone generates 26 million tonnes of textile waste every year; that’s equivalent to 11,400 buses filled to the brim with textile waste EVERY DAY.
BYT - an upcycled, socially sustainable fashion brand and social impact business - wants to change this. And they need your help!

BYT proudly represents Hong Kong in the global finals of the Chivas Venture, the social impact venture competition in which almost 3,000 passionate start ups apply to but only 30 of the best make it through. BYT is now competing for a share of US$250,000 prize money through public voting - and they need your help to win critical funding so that they can make a difference.

PLEASE CAST YOUR VOTE – which takes just 15 seconds HERE

CROWD FUNDING AND YOUR VOTE
The crowd funding competition runs for 5 weeks from 8 May to 12 June and each voter can cast ONE VOTE EACH WEEK, which means you can vote 5 times! Each week, USD$50,000 is is divided proportionally to all finalists by the number of votes they receive.  So every vote counts!

ABOUT BYT
BYT is an affordable luxury up-cycled fashion brand and social impact business using the fashion industry’s unused surplus waste materials, as an alternative to utilizing virgin materials, to create beautiful products using socially sustainable supply chains.  With thanks to the sister charity Redress’ 10-year legacy, global networks and their annual EcoChic Design Award, the world’s largest sustainable design competition (read more about this years cycle here), BYT is creating big ripples to change fashion.  BYT donates 10% of their profits to the charity Redress so that together we can change the future of fashion. Watch this video for more info about BYT.

HOW FUNDS WILL HELP BYT
The company need to expand their logistics and warehousing for the unwanted waste materials that they rescue, which is critical to reducing waste, as well as to create more opportunities for emerging designers and social enterprises. Ultimately, the funding will help to fight global climate change and to prove that fashion can be a force for good.
