The Asia Contemporary Art Show returns to kick-off the art events in Hong Kong with its 10th edition, starting with a VIP preview last night (March 17th). Taking place from March 17 to 20, 2017, the Show will be the first art fair during Hong Kong Art Week to welcome collectors and art enthusiasts to view more than 3,000 artworks presented by over 80 galleries and artists from Asia and the world – from up-and-coming and mid-career artists, to those who have achieved success at auction.
The 10th edition hosts galleries from 17 countries, and introduces two new features, China Perspectives and Artist Projects. Spread across the Show, China Perspectives will present a collection of contemporary art from new and emerging Chinese artists, while Artist Projects is dedicating 30 art spaces across two floors to solo or joint artist presentations.
We were of course there at the VIP preview last night, and below give you a glimpse of some of the great art we saw in the rooms covering 4 floors at the Conrad Hotel. There are galleries from all over Asia Pacific and onwards and we show you some of the most interesting (for us). But go see for yourself - the show is open until Monday! And if you see something you like - head to that room and enquire about the artist! All photos courtesy of Style by Asia and each individual gallery/artist. Please don't use without permission.
We started from the bottom and went up, mainly to escape the crowds as we are seasoned fair goers and know that most people do it the other way around. This way we got many of the galleriests to ourselves! So, starting on floor #40.

The whole of the 41st Floor is dedicated to individual artists wanting to show and represent their own work. We of course popped in to Room 4104 where the always so fabulous Maddi Ekeblad is showing her art - "I pain music" she always says.
And that she does. For this show, she brought along a one-of-a-kind hand painted umbrella which is art totally bespoke and available on request only. 7 paintings in one - this is truly wearable art. Sign me up for one!
